At the completion of the required
courses, Noyce scholars may apply for OhioAlternative
Educators License (OAEL.) Holders of the OAEL are
eligible to teach their subject area of specialization
in grades 7-12. OAEL is a two-year, non-renewable
license, issued on verification of employment by the
superintendent of the employing school district.
Teachers with a two-year OAEL
license must pass PRAXIS II PLT to be eligible for the
two-year provisional license.
Noyce course work may apply
towards a Master’s degree in education. Noyce scholars
are required to teach for two years in a high-needs
school.
